In addition to my editorial work, I also work as a freelance copy editor and copywriter, often for brands within the ski and outdoor industry. Here's an example of some of my work in the commercial world.
I write product copy for Mission Workshop, a San Francisco-based company that makes durable, high-end bags and apparel.
I wrote all of the web copy, plus press releases and other marketing material, for a new Tahoe-based wine company called Illanta Wines.
Head High Wines
I wrote all of the web copy for a new, surf-inspired wine company out of California's North Coast, as well as additional marketing material.
I'm a contributing writer for GORE-TEX, writing feature-length stories for their website that add depth, characters, and compelling storytelling to their outdoor products.
I'm a contributing writer for REI.com's new blog. Check out my stories here.
I write nearly all of the written content for Flylow, from product descriptions and catalogues, to blog posts, email newsletters, and more.
I write and update athlete bios for Red Bull Media House, which involves interviewing athletes from sports ranging from rock climbing to ice hockey to surfing.
I have written email newsletter copy as well as print marketing material for this family-owned, organic sock company out of Fort Payne, Alabama.
I wrote, edited and copyedited a winter catalog for Evo, an action sports online retailer with a flagship store in Seattle, Washington.
I work with German company Ortovox to review their translated written material, approving all English translations for use in marketing material, press releases, catalogs and more. I've also written product descriptions and copy edited various marketing documents.
Farm to feet
For the company Farm to Feet, which produces American-made wool socks, I interviewed ranchers and manufacturers in the wool industry, then wrote blog stories for the brand's website about their various suppliers.
